The Department of Science & Humanities comprises of English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry disciplines established in the year 1995. The first year students are taught these subjects which are the basics of Engineering. The department has 15 faculty members. Out of the above, there are 7 staff are with Ph D degree.

CHEMISTRY

                 Department of Chemistry is located in the first floor of the Civil and basic science block. This   department has one advanced chemistry laboratory for the benefit of first year B.E/B.Tech students. This laboratory has some important instruments like Microprocessor based pH meter, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Turbidity Meter, Conductivity Meter, Potentiometer, Flame photometer, BOD Incubator, Distilled Water Instrument, Digital Chemical Balance, etc… 90% of the first year students got good results in University examinations. 

                 In association with Sivanthi Science Club, the first year students present their technical papers in various State and National Level Technical Conferences held in different colleges in Tamil Nadu. We have a department library with a lot of books for the benefit of students and staff.The department of Chemistry undertakes testing of water to ascertain its suitability for drinking purposes, construction purposes & industrial purposes.  The users include Aditanar Institutions, Southern Railways and other construction companies in southern Tamil Nadu.

ENGLISH

                 Department of English and Communication Skills Laboratory are situated in the ECE block.  The Communication Skills Laboratory is computerized, state–of–the–art lab which caters to the language demands and soft skill requirements of the students.  It hones the listening, reading and speaking skills of the learners and offers ample lessons and activities to master the art of communication in English.  

                 Career-oriented training regarding Presentations, Interviews and Group Discussions and live-recorded video samples enhance the performance of the users in interviews and there by paves way to placement in much-desired avenues of technology.  This Laboratory is a platform for the young engineers to whet their knowledge and gain a successful career.

PHYSICS

                 Department of Physics is located in the first floor of the Civil and basic science block with wide workspace to accommodate 60 students at a time. Dark room is available to conduct Optics experiments. The facilities at this laboratory are Crystal growth by gel method, Constant temperature bath, Electronic digital balances, Digital pH meter & Magnetic stirrer with hot plate, Semiconductor Diode LASER, Viscosity of liquid, Thermo emf. method.

MATHEMATICS

                 Department of Mathematics is located in Administrative block. The department is maintaining separate department library for the benefit of students. The department has a separate mathematical laboratory to enrich the mathematical skill of the students.

                 Our laboratory contains lot of puzzle books and Mathematical models.  In addition to the above, we have the photographs of great Mathematicians and their contributions towards their field of invention.  

                 Some of photographs of the great Mathematicians are Ramanujam, Pyhagoras, Euler, Laplace, Fourier, Legendre, Stokes, Dirichlets, Fermet, Lagrange, Taylore, Gauss, Paul Erdos, Galois, etc... By entering into this laboratory, students can able to know the entire history and contributions of the above said Mathematicians.

                 This laboratory contains numerous objective questions in Mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal reasoning along with short cut methods to solve the problems. By knowing the short cut formulae and methods which are discussed in this laboratory will be very much useful to the students to face the campus interview boldly and effectively. Solving the mind shaking puzzles in the prescribed time limit will improve their fast and correct thinking in the correct direction. By reading lot of brain teasers books which are available in this laboratory will certainly bring the persons nothing to everything.

                 Video visual puzzles are intended for improving the student's skills from ordinary position to extraordinary positions.
