ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 

       The department was started in the year 1995 with the aspiration to bestow Quality Education of high Standard ad infinitum. It has a total built up area of 4,300 Sq.m. The department offers B.E degree program in Mechanical Engineering. 
 

FACILITIES
                 The faculty of our department, who zealously put forth their wholehearted efforts in training the students to higher standards are well qualified with vast experience and are of high caliber.

                 There are well-equipped laboratories with latest machines and to this, new equipment are added every year. The students are well trained in the latest softwares like ANSYS, CATIA, Mechanical Desktop, AutoCAD,Automation Studio, MiniCAD, Pro-E, Edge CAM, MATLAB etc., in our highly sophisticated CAD Lab.

             The CAM Lab is geared up with advanced CNC machines like CNC-Lathe and CNC-Milling machine, which are well supported with the latest CAM software.

             The department has the privilege of signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with nearby industries for assisting our students in In-plant Trainings and Project works. 

             The department has an exclusive Library in which Mechanical Engineering students can access to innumerous volumes of books for quenching their quest for knowledge.

             The department has produced many University Rank holders and GATE scorers. They are mentioned below.

             Our Students have been placed in various reputed organizations like Caterpillar, Hyundai Motors, Sterlite, TVS, ISRO, Brakes India, TCS, L&T, Carborundum, Mahindra, UCAL Fuels, CTS and Infosys.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

                    Various students' chapters like ISTE, ISTD, IE(I) function in the department for improving the competency of the students.

                    Mechanical Engineering Association kindles the interest of students and provides them opportunities to actively participate in various activities like Group Discussions, Seminars, Quiz etc., by organizing various competitions. Special coaching classes are arranged for the GATE and other competitive Examinations.

                    Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) have ties with our Department and have been creating awareness about renewable energy.

                    Special coaching classes are offered to our students for appearing in MAT/CAT examinations, to join MBA. The department is proud of having produced many Executives.

                    With the above salient features in hand, the department continuously strives hard for maintaining its standard and improving further to reach Excellence in Technical Education.
