Three hostel blocks, two for boys and the other for girls and one more ladies hostel is under construction

Tamil Nad Mercantile Bank Ltd., Sonaganvilai branch has its extension counter at College Administrative Block.
It functions between 11.00 A.M and 2.00 P.M on Monday to Friday.

Staff quarters ( Type A , B , C ) are available in our college for providing residential accommodation to families of the teaching Staff.

INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION- STAFF AND STUDENTS’ CHAPTER (ISTE)

Organizes regular activities to provide necessary training and guest lectures to meet the new challenges in the changing scenario of technical education.

The Best Chapter Award in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Section was conferred to our college chapter for the Best performance during the year 2000.
ISTE Students’ Chapter arranges functions to improve the leadership quality of the students.

INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT STUDENTS CELL (ISTD)

Special lectures, Discussions by experienced persons from leading Industries like TVS, SPIC and DCW are arranged regularly to expose the industrial needs to the students.

INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS (IEEE)

“Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers” student branch of Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering was established in 2004. Two faculty & twenty students of Electronics & Communication Engineering branch are the members. Mrs. S. Selvi, HOD / ECE is the coordinator and Mr.S.Kamalanathan , Lecturer/ECE is the IEEE branch counselor. The branch organizes the following activities:

Institution of Engineers IE – STUDENT CHAPTER

Students’ Chapters of Institution of Engineers (India) in the disciplines of Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are functioning. The activities of the chapter shall include the following:

Competitions, Organising Lectures, Discussions, Seminars, etc on the subject of engineering interest
Promoting social contacts among the students

Computer society of India (CSI)

The students’ chapter of CSI (Computer Society of India), a professional body actively functions in order to improve and enrich knowledge
Exhibit the hidden talents of students by participating in various events.

Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication (IETE)

The students’ Forum of IETE (Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers) India actively organizes special lectures, workshops, symposia & exhibitions to develop students’ interpersonal skills.

Indian Concrete Institute (ICI)

Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) admits our college as Life member of ICI with effect from 2008-2009. ICI actively organizes special lectures, workshops, conferences, etc.,

AIMA (All India Management Association) Students’ chapter

Students of Department of Management studies are the members in this chapter.
AIMA membership is a recognition of the applicant’s achievements as a manager and commitment to the cause for the management profession.
Gives a chance to establish valuable contacts with other members, exchange ideas and information and represent issues of common concern at local and national forums.
The member is entitled to a whole range of management services and development activities directed towards enhancing professional and managerial skills. He/She is also entitled to special privileges in various business services.
Arranges Guest Lectures, Management development programmes, workshops, seminars, etc.,

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of our college was started in 2008.
Objective of EDC is to mould the young budding Engineers for starting a new business, small scale industry, etc.,
Organizes Guest lectures and awareness programmes periodically.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

NSS Unit is functioning with the aim to instill social service in the minds of youth. Mr. P. Bala Kumar, Lecturer of Chemistry is acting as the Programme Officer.
College NSS unit has around one hundred volunteers.
Every year, the volunteers conduct awareness programmes, Free General Medical Camp, Free Veterinary Camp, Leadership training programme and first aid courses in the adopted villages during the special camp arranged by our NSS unit.
The NSS unit is also involved in sapling plantation and in cleaning in & around the college campus.
Students attend various awareness programmes like consumer awareness programme conducted by other colleges.
Render their valuable service in the Pulse Polio Awareness programmes, organized by Tamil Nadu Government and in eye-camps organized in association with Aravind Eye-Hospital, Tirunelveli & St. Luca’s Eye Hospital, Nazareth.
Involve in saving the precious human lives by donating blood.

YOUTH RED CROSS:

Youth Red Cross, a student wing of Red Cross Society is functioning in our college. Mr. D. Thanagar, Lecturer/Civil is the Programmer Officer of the unit. The chapter conducts the following activities:

Personality & Character Development programmer
Training programmers on Yoga, First Aid, Fire fighting, Awareness on Drug Abuse, cancer & AIDS, Blood donation, etc…

LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY AND FINE ARTS CLUB

Encouraged to participate in Fine Arts and Cultural events in order to bring their hidden talents.
Participated, on many occasions, in youth festivals in other institutions and won many prizes and brought glory to the college.
